INFORMATION
Location: San Francisco, CA (in-person)
Status: Exempt at 0.8 FTE (32 hours / week) or Full-time Intern
Compensation: $73,600 - $100,000 pending years of experience or $50,000 intern stipend
Reports to: Director of Inclusion
OVERVIEW
The School Psychologist sits on the Diverse Learners Team and is deeply embedded in the school community. They collaborate with the students, families, community partners and the school team to remove student barriers to learning and build safe and healthy environments for academic and socialemotional success. They study and assist students using various techniques including but not limited to conferencing, observation, psycho-educational assessments, and counseling. They are also responsible for building knowledge, skill and tools across the school community. This role necessitates an eagerness to be part of a start-up environment and a desire to help build systems for strong collaboration and communication with both staff and families. The role reports to the Director of Inclusion.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
• Valid California Pupil Personnel Services credential with advanced specialization in School Psychology/School Psychologist Intern credential
• Knowledge of special education laws and regulations; general education curriculum; Response to Intervention
• principles; Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, disabilities and appropriate curriculum; behavior intervention systems
• Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal licensing or certification requirements
• Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly as a member of multi-disciplinary team across tiers of support to support the development of a safe, supportive, and joyful learning environment
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Alignment with New School SF’s mission and values
Preferred
• Bilingual Spanish speaker
• Experience working at a school site
• Experience participating in IEP meetings
• Experience working across lines of difference
