Job Overview :
The Assistant Starter will handle horses for schooling in the morning.
Essential Functions :
- Teach horses to break and school from the Starting Gate.
- Load and handle horses in the Starting Gate.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
Qualifications :
- High School diploma or GED
- Team player.
- Horsemanship Skills.
- Extraordinary patience with horses.
- Ability to obtain a NYS Gaming Commission license.
Summary of Physical Requirements and Work Environment :
This is a physical job and requires the ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 50 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
