Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time receptionist to support the work of the Cancer Research Cluster Administration Team.
The team develops new and innovative treatments across a range of solid tumour and haematological cancers. We work as a close team of doctors, nurses and support staff based on Ward 11 at the Freeman Hospital.
The post holder will be mainly patient facing and would work on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
The role involves variety and urgent ad-hoc demands. The post holder must be able to multitask and possess excellent communication and time management skills.
Previous administration or NHS experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be given. The ability to work independently and follow policies and procedures is essential.
The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate excellent flexibility and have an organised approach to work.
Main duties of the job
To greet and ensure all patients coming to Ward 11 are processed efficiently and accurately using the Trust e-record system.
To provide front line reception / ward clerk duties, answer telephone, email and face to face queries from health professionals, patients, relatives and members of the public.
Liaise closely with the nursing and medical team to ensure smooth patient pathway.
Book interpreters, porters, taxi, meeting rooms
