Currently the Snow Shoveler position is a seasonal & hourly position-- hours are determined based on snow fall--This position requires endurance for the possibility of long hours during frigged temperatures and extreme weather (snow storms). This is an entry level position with the possibility of career advancements.

You are key to our cost-effective clearing of snow and deicing across large areas as you drive to prevent snow build-up or freezing. You are how we quickly produce high-quality work, safely and productively at all times. You have proven that you know how to use and operate the assigned equipment and are 100% responsible for its safe operation, equipment inspections and assisting with minor field repairs as needed.

Position Requirements:

• 24/7 availability: working various hours (when it snows, we work!)
• Must be capable of lifting/ carrying weight of 50 lbs
• Must be able to work as a team player
• Must have reliable transportation to get to/from main headquarters and to directly to customer sites
• Must have Valid ID/License
• Must attend Training sessions at NIRO headquarters
• Must be able to abide all company policies and procedures
• Must adhere to safety protocol, and work in a drug-free environment

Position Duties:

• Prep as directed by your supervisor
• Load/unloading materials and equipment from trucks (de-icing material, snow blowers, etc.)
• Manual labor: Shoveling
• Misc. tasks as directed by your supervisor.
• BODY POSITIONS: Will need to be able to perform sedentary to heavy work while performing the duties of this job. He/she may also be required to stand and/or walk for long periods of time while completing other duties and responsibilities. He/she will also be required to talk and/or listen for prolonged periods of time.
• BODY MOVEMENTS: The employee must have a full range of body movements including the use of his/her hands to finger, handle, and feel objects such as computer equipment and reports. Subject to repetitive use of hands, arms, and legs. Must have the ability to bend the body, to reach for objects, and to stoop, kneel, or crouch, crawl, climb or balance when needed are also required.
• BODY SENSES: The employee must have command of all five senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. These vision requirements in each area must be sufficient for example to shift in focus from computer screens to close forms.
• STRENGTH: The employee must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
• OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability and willingness to work long hours outside in the winter during the snow season and as needed.

• Use of our Company Platforms to record services & take photos
• Description and Timing
• Pre-trip Checklist Completion
• Percent of completed equipment pre-trip checklists.
• Days w/out an Incident
• Number of days without any incidents

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 12 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Holidays
• Night shift
• On call
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Brewer, ME 04412: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Snow Shoveling: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
