Summary - Job Responsibilities – Activities:
Quality Engineer: The ideal candidate will have 10 years of power transformer (up to 69 kV, 50 MVA) manufacturing and quality experience requiring ISO9001, CSA C88, IEEE C57 and N299.2. IEC experience is a plus.
Functions:
• Strong execution and continuous improvement of the company’s quality system
• Ensuring ongoing ISO 9001 compliance
• Tracking and reporting of quality metrics
• Creating and improving processes and procedures
• Client and vendor communication regarding technical reports, quality issues and corrective/preventative actions
• Conducting Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions
• Documentation control and communication of design intent and standard operating procedures
• Design reviews
• Creation of inspection and test plans, verification and validation plans
• Establish work flows and processes leveraging the company’s investments in IT to provide visibility, reporting and reduce paper-based processes. Apply visual management techniques to allow quick identification of status.
• Develop procedures and processes in coordination with R&D, design, engineering, maintenance, manufacturing and field teams.
• Reporting quality objectives and metrics to the management team
• Coach, hands-on train and motivate employees to achieve a high performance with respect to quality system objectives and company objectives
• Participate and or provide hands on inspection of all critical aspects of in process transformers
• Flexibility and initiative to take on other engineering and management tasks as required by a fast growing, mid-sized company
• Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with the company’s Health and Safety programs.
Requirements
Education - Experience:
• Engineering degree
• 10 years of Engineering work experience in a power transformer design & manufacturing environment; ideally up to 69 kV, 50 MVA
• Proven experience with quality systems and ISO certification
• Proven experience with CSA, IEEE, ANSI and IEC transformer standards.
• Experience with design software, ideally Inventor, AutoCAD
• Experience with ERP tools, ideally Epicor
