We’re hiring a General Maintenance Technician for the Housing Department to Live. Work. Explore. in Death Valley National Park!

Job Summary :

General Maintenance position provides trade support to all Employee Housing and or Guest Rooms. Specializing in general plumbing, minor electrical, painting, and general carpentry.

The Details :

Position Type : Full-time Year-round

Start Dates : May 2024

Pay : $18.10

Schedule : Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days / per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

• You will provide support for employee housing and guest rooms.
• Skilled in the trades, concentrating in plumbing, minor electrical, painting, locks, and household repair.
• Determine priorities in scheduling work, necessary building repairs, maintenance and installation of equipment.
• Generalized carpentry skills.
• Develop a preventative maintenance program for all building and equipment.
• Ensure orders are received and that parts, equipment and stock meet operational requirements prior to installation.
• Assist with inspecting systems throughout the facility to detect malfunctions and determine a solution for repair.
• Perform general maintenance of facility as needed including painting, door hardware maintenance, circuit troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with Engineering / HR department and contractors to successfully complete jobs that require larger scale work.
• Troubleshoot HVAC systems and perform routine maintenance.
• Take environmental awareness and measures that protect resources and wildlife.
• All other duties as assigned by the Housing Department.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work in systems and understand budgets

• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to drive golf cart and vehicle.
• Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.

• Ability to work in systems and understand budgets.
