The Department of Dance, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks an Administrative Assistant to join our team. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College hosts 81 majors. With 38 departments, 20 world- class research centers, and more than 2,000 faculty and staff members, students have the unique opportunity to study with the best artists, scholars, and scientists in their field. The Administrative Assistant supports the collaborative community engaged project between the Department of Arts Administration, Education, and Policy and the Department of Dance. The coordinator will support administrative operations and provides a broad range of administrative support for the faculty PIs on the project, Making Good Trouble with Old Narratives. In addition, this person will also manage the project calendar; provide administrative support for participant recruitment efforts; secure local participants to be involved in the project; work with local school districts to recruit teacher participants for the professional development; handle community relations, manage correspondence with community partners and participants; lead operations during events on selected dates and supervises student workers through all events; assist with logistics and art making on the project, includes work coordinating dancers, costumes, props, and film/lighting equipment; assist with the scheduling of location for the three sites that the project will take place at; manage logistics and transportation for participants at each event. These duties will be executed in partnership with the project PIs.
The Administrative Assistant works as part of a team to provide support to the project PIs for all project operations. This project is designed to uplift young people in K-12 populations who are historically marginalized.
This position is temporary and will end in or before June 2025.
Required Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED. 2 years of relevant experience in administrative assistance.
Desired Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; knowledge of university administration Experience in community engagement, art making, and/or serving inclusive populations desired.
Salary Range: $21.11 - $27.77
