Job Title: Post Doctoral Researcher - PEARL Laboratory Department: Medicine | Health and Rehabilitation Sciences Post-Doctoral Researcher to pursue specialized research training, education and experience under the guidance of Dr. Jill Heathcock in the Pediatric Assessment and Rehabilitation Laboratory (PEARL lab); plans, designs and executes experiments of considerable scope and complexity in the assigned research lab; collects and analyzes data for research sponsored by appropriate agencies and Institutions; identifies and selects problems to be studied; develops and troubleshoots new experimental techniques and protocols; attend research seminars; contributes to manuscript preparation and supports technical writing; participates in the preparation of grant applications for extramural funding; performs additional duties as assigned. Experience with assessment of infants and children with and without disabilities is highly relevant. Must be familiar with the current literature on the assessment and treatment of children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, including cerebral palsy. Behavioral coding with datavyu, human subjects training, and assessment of motor skills in children, including video and 3D motion capture, is desirable. The ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams is required. Minor coding is expected. Those with a Ph.D. in rehabilitation, biomechanics, engineering, kinesiology, education, or psychology are encouraged to apply. Doctoral degree in Health or Rehabilitation or Biological Sciences required; Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidates may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
