We are currently looking for a Purchasing Analyst to join our Sunnyvale, CA team.
Job Summary In this role, you will report to the Purchasing Manager. Using analytical skills and software tools available, the Purchasing Analyst will be working as part of our Purchasing team and with our vendors to supply our customers with quality products at reasonable prices and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Support Purchasing Manager by collecting and analyzing the business requirements, key cost drivers, supplier capabilities and industry trends to develop and implement category sourcing strategies that will optimize the overall value for Olander while ensuring supply and quality.
Review, maintain and set replenishment settings, stock/non-stock, pricing data, approved primary and secondary suppliers for each item, and other data changes in ERP to maintain the accuracy of data.
Troubleshoot inbound shipment issues and supply chain constraints. Working with the supplier to solve these issues and expedite orders where needed.
Analyze and act on purchase recommendations generated by the ERP system. This includes generating Purchase Orders, communicating POs to suppliers, receiving acknowledgements, and performing PO maintenance as needed.
Work with Purchasing Manager in item setup within the ERP system to drive accurate systems suggestions for purchases and ensure correct cost are captured.
Issue and manage purchase orders to approved suppliers, negotiating costs and delivery schedules as needed.
Additional duties may include resolving issues with non-conforming items, performing inventory return, item coding and resolving accounting issues with pricing.
Identify overstock and slow-moving inventory and work to make appropriate adjustments.
Monitor and report on key performance indicator and significant changes or concerns to the Purchasing Manager.
Effectively interact with all teams, departments, location within the Olander Family of Companies.
Qualifications/Skills
5 years or more experience in logistics, inventory management, supply chain or related field. (Advanced degree a plus)
Minimum 2 years’ experience in purchasing, preferably in a fastener/industrial distribution environment. Fastener experience a plus.
Purchasing and Inventory Management skills
Strong Microsoft Office skills - advanced knowledge of formulas/formatting with Excel in particular. ERP experience is a plus.
Excellent verbal / written communication skills (Fluent in English a must). Ability to communicate clearly and articulately over the telephone

Requires sitting for extended periods of time
Long hours of working on a computer; this includes reading a computer screen and typing excessively on a keyboard.
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets,office machinery, etc.
