The Outlook at Windhaven leadership is looking for talented individuals to be part of the team as a Security Officer this summer!
Start Date: June 2024
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Models a service attitude towards others, takes ownership in solving problems and takes the initiative to make things better
- Is friendly and courteous to residents, patients and co-workers
- Ensure resident/patient, visitor, and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazards
- Maintain good attendance record
- Patrol grounds to ensure no one is on the property without permission
- Stays in contact with receptionist and other personnel to ensure safety of property
- Reacts to 911 calls to meet ambulance or fire department at the front gate and escort them to the appropriate building
- Assists residents who need special care to navigate the property
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language
- Must be able to adjust to changes in shift schedule
- Must be capable of passing an FBI background investigation to facilitate licensing by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Private Security Bureau
- Previous experience with security/ or other building services required
- Able to communicate with the elderly population, other staff members, and visitors
- Ability to effectively resolve problems
- Ability to gain trust of the resident population
- Ability to react quickly to unknown circumstances and remain calm
- Ability to perform Essential Duties
- Genuine caring for and interest in the care of mature adults, persons with disabilities and hospice patients
- Ability to perform work tasks within the Physical Demand Requirements
- Ability to comply with the Resident Bill of Rights and Employee Responsibilities
- Ability to comply with organizational and departmental safety policies and procedures
