Nurse Manager
The #1 Priority of this position is…
To coordinate all aspects of resident care to promote their comfort, safety, physical and mental well-being and coordinate staff to provide high quality care on a 24-hour basis, seven days a week. Acting as liaison between residents, their families, staff and the medical practitioners caring for the residents while exercising excellent nursing professional judgment and outstanding customer service skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the supervision and scheduling of a large nursing staff
- To ensure compliance with all established rules, regulations and standards as required by all licensing authorities.
- To provide educational experience to keep all staff members informed of new developments within our sphere of care particularly regarding geriatric care.
- Coordinates all interdepartmental activities, assesses residents for changes in health status, and at times when medical emergencies occur determines the appropriate action to be taken.
Qualifications
- Florida Registered Nurse.
- Must have at least three years of supervisory experience with a large staff.
- Must be capable of initiating and implementing major decisions.
- Must have excellent communications skills, both verbal and written in English. Spanish preferred.
- Must be able to write a budget proposal for nursing

- Flexible as to work schedule. Flexibility is greatly appreciated at times of need or emergency. Must be available during emergency situations.
- Experience and knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to the operation of an ALF.
- Can make independent decisions and solve problems.
- Must be able to work under pressure and multi-task and can remain calm while directing other staff in an emergency or crisis situations.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently AND as a team member.
