What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Manager position at The Pattie Group?
The Fleet Manager must be thoroughly familiar with all aspects of company Fleet Equipment operations including cost-benefit analysis, purchasing, maintaining, scheduling, mobilizing, inventory management/control, licensing, registering, training, etc. The Fleet Manager must display the leadership and management capability to effectively run the Fleet department on a daily basis while creating and maintaining a professional atmosphere. This position is hands-on with maintaining and mechanically working on equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company's vehicle fleet, including scheduling and dispatching vehicles.
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs for all fleet vehicles to ensure they are in excellent condition.
- Implement and maintain effective fleet safety programs and policies.
- Prepare reports on fleet performance, including maintenance costs and vehicle/equipment utilization, and make recommendations for improvements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate favorable pricing and service agreements.
- Collaborate with other departments across the organization to ensure efficient use of fleet resources.
- Perform thorough inspections, diagnose, and repair large and small equipment, trucks, and trailers.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Fleet Manager or in a similar role.
- Strong organizational and logistical skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of vehicle/equipment maintenance and repair procedures.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations regarding vehicle safety and compliance.
