Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our pediatric team. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in conducting various laboratory procedures and assisting with laboratory management. This position is ideal for individuals with strong anatomy and physiology knowledge, experience in specimen collection processing, and a passion for working in a hospital or medical laboratory setting.
Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory procedures such as flu test, strep test, obtaining blood, and specimen collection processing
- Conduct tests and analyze samples using appropriate laboratory equipment
- Record and interpret test results accurately
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper functioning
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of laboratory supplies
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient workflow
Experience:
- Proven experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in a hospital or medical laboratory
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and techniques
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in recording data
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Effective communication skills
