Position Summary:
  • The Sewing Machine Operator is responsible for operating and tending to industrial machines.
  • Responsible for sewing a quality product utilizing machines to meet customer specific requirements.
  • Responsible for adherence to all quality systems and production requirements.
  • Must be able to meet the daily productivity goals.
  • Must be able to maintain equipment and maintain work area.
  • First Shift 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Responsibilities:
  • Ability to sew a wide range of textiles at required productivity rates.
  • Ability to thread, tension, and adjust stitch length. Effectively operate commercial sewing machines and be able to conduct routine sewing machine maintenance such as: Thread, Needle, Blade, & Bobbin changes, cleaning of thread or textile remnants from casings, oiling of machine, etc.
  • Ensure that each part passed meets the customers’ quality expectations, and meets quality standards before leaving the workstation.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and/or scanning that is required per station.
  • Observe operations to detect any faults or defects in stitching.
  • Ensure that the finished product conforms to the design and instructions provided in the work order.

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • High School diploma.
  • 1 year of sewing experience.
  • Must be able to quickly become familiar with the use of various computer applications.
