Our firm, Picklr Inc., is seeking to hire an Accountant who will be working at the company headquarters in Kaysville, UT, which is situated near Salt Lake City.We have an outstanding corporate culture of smart, talented, dedicated staff members who are passionate about pickleball and have a team mentality. Accountant Job Responsibilities:
Banking
- Monitoring all bank account balances daily to ensure sufficient funds and no suspicious transactions
- Booking of all banking transactions in QuickBooks for all entities
- Managing inbound and outbound wires
- Managing ACH pulls from franchisees
- Monthly reconciliation of QuickBooks/banking
Monthly Picklr financial statements
- Assisting in the monthly financial statement reconciliation process
- Reconciling monthly data from Picklr’s point of sale software, PlayByPoint, at each club location including revenue recognition and categorization
- Assisting in the reconciliation of monthly franchisee royalty payment calculations
Employees
- Processing employee payroll for all Picklr entities through the company’s PEO, Insperity
- Processing all contractor payroll through QuickBooks
- Reconciling employee commission calculations
- Reconciling and monitoring employee expense reporting through DivvyCard
Vendors
- Paying bills and invoices for all 5 Picklr entities:
- Filling out financial forms as requested for credit references to vendors
- Collecting W-9s from vendors for vendor setup in QuickBooks
- Managing annual 1099 submissions to vendors
- Managing the setup and transfer of utilities for new club locations
- Invoicing partnership payments, construction rebates, and sponsorships
Sales tax filings
- Filing quarterly sales tax returns for applicable entities
- Coordinating with our outside sales tax consulting firm
State registrations
- Managing state registrations for new locations
- Establishing registered agent relationships
- Registering with respective Secretary of States
- Setting up sales tax accounts with the state departments of revenue
Insurance
- Managing the insurance setup for new club locations and certificate of insurance (COI) requests
- Monitoring rate changes and renewals
- Acting as a liaison between Picklr management and the company’s insurance agent
Leases
- Monitoring all new locations lease negotiations and LOIs at the real estate level to prepare for onboarding, rates, build out costs, and other tasks
- Acting as a liaison between the landlords and Picklr for matters pertaining to our leases such as rent, security deposits, alarm systems, roof issues, disputes, complaints, and other matters
Accountant Qualifications / Skills:
- General accounting knowledge
- Ability to manage processes
- Organizational skills
- Ability to operate efficiently and quickly with a low error rate
- In-depth knowledge of Excel
- Understanding of financial software including QuickBooks
- Ability to segregate entity operations and manage their expenses
- Ability to create and improve weekly/monthly/quarterly checklist and reconciliation standards
- Financial skills
- Ability to analyze data
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in GAAP accounting/finance
- Experience in working with multiple business units
