POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for executing quality mechanical estimates for every project. Collaborates with the Estimating and Operations leadership team as well as subcontractors to ensure corporate and departmental directives are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Responsible for ensuring that your surrounding environment is in compliance with all safety procedures.
- Accountable for reporting any unsafe conditions and/or accidents to management immediately.
- Accountable for building trust and rapport with all clients by demonstrating a P*rofessional Consulting Mindset B*ehavior (PCMB) that produces an understanding of the customer viewpoints through various methods such as asking clarifying questions, effectively challenging to advise appropriately and understanding a variety of viewpoints.
- Accountable for reviewing the quality of estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness with applicable department and operation leadership personnel.
- Responsible for executing quality preconstruction, construction management and hard bids estimates.
- Accountable for performing quality takeoffs.
- Responsible for conducting site visits to ensure accuracy of estimates when needed.
- Accountable for taking part in the constructive reviews, value, engineering and design build process as needed.
- Accountable for participating in document review meetings at the beginning of the project estimating process.
- Responsible to closely works with subcontractors to generating quality scope sheets.
- Accountable for inputting data and delivers accurate information for the historical cost, subcontractor and vendor databases.
- Responsible for maintaining proper documentation for each estimate to include preparing and updating project estimating books.
- Accountable for ensuring that scopes of work are clearly identified and coordinated between trades.
- Responsible for fulfilling quality subcontractor solicitation as needed.
- Accountable to join in on presentations and/or interviewing as requested.
- Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with subcontractors and design community to obtain best market pricing.
- Accountable for understanding and abiding by role, department and Company expectations pertaining to policies, procedures and all other applicable requirements.
- Accountable to travel as business dictates and ability to accommodate a flexible schedule to meet workload needs.
- Responsible for performing other responsibilities/duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/ Experience:
- Bachelor s Degree from an accredited institution in related field; and/or equivalent of minimum 3 years equivalent experience or equivalent combination of educations and experience, required.
- Commercial Industry Experience, preferred.
Knowledge:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, required.
- Able to utilize common construction software programs, required, Onscreen and Timberline knowledge, preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical construction documents, required.
