What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Residential Program Manager position at The Price Center?
The Assistant Residential Program Manager provides program development and administrative responsibilities, knowledge in coordination of behavior program planning and medications, coordination of all individual services, supervision of program staff, managing program finances and individual’s finances, ensure physical site is clean and well maintained, liaison with families, neighbors, employers and government agencies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
I. Individual Services
1. Monitor all individual services within the program.
2. Develop and implement individual programs.
3. Serve as a resource to other program staff.
4. Provide direct service to individuals in a sensitive, professional manner.
5. Provide ongoing communication with families/guardians.
6. Obtain input from all individuals and families/guardians regarding their services.
7. Serve as the Human Rights Officer, or designate another staff person to be the Human Rights Officer. Provide training and supervision to Case Manager designated as Human Rights Officer.
8. Assist Program Manager in implementing data collection systems for each individual and the ensure utilization of those systems with the Director of Residential Services.
9. Supervise the development of all individuals’ ISPs. Attend internal/external individual conferences/ISPs when the Program Manager is unavailable.
10. Ensure that ISP goals and objectives are developed and implemented in accordance with Price Center and DDS guidelines.
11. Ensure that medical/dental appointments for each person in the program are scheduled and followed through. Attend and transport individuals to medical appointments.
12. Maintain program records and files and monitor and maintain client record keeping system.
13. Assume case management and direct care functions as assigned.
14. Oversee Medication Administration, including re-ordering and ensuring records are complete and accurate.
15. Support program participants’ right to express their religious affiliations and cultural traditions through preferred and relevant activities. Support diversity of individuals served through respect of religious preferences and/or cultural backgrounds.
II. Staff, Supervision and Management
1. Serve as the primary person in charge, in the absence of the Program Manager, during each working day (as assigned), giving direction and instruction as needed to regular and relief staff.
2. Prioritize daily training, recreation and other activities.
3. Monitor daily record sheets.
4. Assure quality in program implementation, on a day-to-day basis.
5. Meet regularly with Case Managers to address their individual issues and concerns.
6. Meet regularly with the Program Manager to ensure coordination and consistency between days and shifts of each week.
7. Participate in hiring, orientation, supervision and evaluation of Case Managers and Relief staff.
8. Provide feedback to Case Managers on job performance weekly and serve as shift lead during scheduled shift.
9. Monitor staffs’ ISP and Progress Notes documentation.
10. Coordinate with the Program Manager and facilitate implementation of in-service training for staff.
11. Attend all staff meetings and facilitate weekly staff meetings in the absence of The Program Manager.
12. Monitor all case management of individuals by staff.
III. Program
1. Maintain program budget. Utilizing the program budget, assure fiscal stability by staying within the parameters of the assigned line items. Confer with the Program Manager and Director of Residential Services on any line item variations.
2. Maintain the physical facility for safety/cleanliness and health for maximum program efficiency.
2. Assist the Director of Residential Services in developing and implementing program procedures that reflect the individual operational needs of the program.
4. Participate in program licensing procedures. Maintain compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and licensing affiliates.
5. Communicate with families/guardians and DDS staff and develop cooperative relationships.
6. Review the activities of the Human Rights Coordinator and the Human Rights Committee with the Director of Residential Services to ensure that the program is maintaining the rights of the people served.
7. Ensure the timely completion of all assigned written materials.
8. Review and reconcile with receipts each individual’s fund balances on a weekly basis.
IV. Agency Administration
1. In the absence of the Program Manager provide managerial support and supervision.
2. Attend management meetings when required.
3. Participate in regular supervision with the Program Manager and Director of Residential Services.
4. Participate in agency-wide organizations and projects on an as-needed basis.
5. Maintain financial management of the program finances in conjunction with the Director of Residential Services.
6. Provide On-Call response for assigned residence.
V. Community Relations
1. Represent the agency and the individuals to other organizations and individuals in a positive, professional manner.
2. Maintain regular positive communications with families of individuals, neighbors, employers, service professionals and other.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree preferred and two (2) years of experience or three (3) years of supervisory experience working with persons with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Demonstrated organizational and teaching skills.
- Possession of a valid Driver’s license, a good driving record and a willingness to use personal or agency vehicle in the course of employment.
- Supervisory and administrative skills.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
- Familiar with service systems for people with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to lift and support body weight of any program individual with assistance of another employee.
- Must be MAP certified.
