Technical leader to join our clients NetworkOperations Centre (NOC) as a NOC Team Leader.
This role is Monday to Friday covering the hours between8am and 6pm among the Team Leaders.
The NOCTeam Leader plays a central role in ensuring the smooth daytodayoperations of the 24 / 7 Network Operations Centre.
They will beresponsible for directly managing multiple NOC Engineers and actingas an escalation point within the department.
This position reports directly to the NOC Manager and ispart of the broader Network Operations Centre which includesnetwork and infrastructure coordination as well as changemanagement functions.
The Role
- Serve as a technical leader within the NOC teamoverseeing 24 / 7 NOC rota and providing line management for NOCEngineers including their professional development.
- Focus on process development and workflowanalysis within the NOC department.
- Act as theprimary escalation point within the NOC.
KeyResponsibilities
- Manage a team of 24 / 7 NOC Engineers includingconducting 1 : 1s approving holidays in accordance with an agreedrota conducting sixmonth reviews and managing absences.
- Serve as the escalation contact for NOCengineers both internally and externally with suppliers andwholesale customers.
- Support the NOC inconsolidating monitoring systems and transitioning to a morestreamlined way of working.
- Monitor NOC teamperformance including response times incident resolution andadherence to established KPIs.
- Identify areasfor improvement and implement measures to enhance team performance.
- Attend and contribute to supplier servicereviews.
- Act as incident manager during majorincidents and actively participate in the postincident reviewprocess. Implement and improve incident management processes.
Skills &Experience
- Experience working in a technical role withinan ISP Telco or Managed Services environment.
- Good understanding of the role of the NetworkOperations Centre within an ISP.
- Previousexperience leading a technical team and providing structuredfeedback.
- Understanding and experience withvarious network monitoring systems.
- Approachable andproactive with excellent interpersonal skills and experience inpromoting crossfunctional cooperation.
- Excellent written and verbal communicationskills.
- Ability and interest in understandingnew technologies and integrating them into existing workflows andprocesses.
- Ability to communicate technicalcontent to nontechnical audiences.
- Genuineinterest in continuous improvement with excellent analytical skillsto identify and pursue improvement opportunities within the team.
