POSITION OVERVIEW
We seek an enthusiastic and seasoned Front of House and Sales Manager with a passion for theatre to lead our customer-facing operations, drive sales initiatives, and ensure a seamless experience for our patrons. This pivotal role encompasses overseeing the Box Office, managing the bar and revenue streams, supervising bartenders and ushers, and reporting directly to the Director of Marketing and Audience Experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Front of House and Box Office Management:
- Supervise daily front-of-house and Box Office operations, ensuring a harmonious integration between the two.
- Manage the Box Office Coordinator, overseeing ticket sales, customer interactions, and inquiries.
- Drive group sales initiatives, collaborating with marketing teams to attract and accommodate larger audiences.
- Sales Leadership:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies for ticket and group sales, as well as revenue from the bar.
- Collaborate and coordinate with the Director of Marketing to execute targeted promotional campaigns for theatrical productions and special events.
- Analyze ticket sales and bar revenue trends, adjusting strategies to optimize attendance and financial outcomes.
- Team Collaboration:
- Foster collaboration among front-of-house, sales, and marketing teams, ensuring a unified approach to enhance the overall audience experience.
- Coordinate with production, artistic teams, and volunteers to align efforts with the unique aspects of each theatrical production.
- Financial Management:
- Ensure accurate financial transactions at the Box Office and bar, maintaining secure and efficient systems.
- Implement cost-effective measures while maintaining high-quality theatre and bar experiences.
- Personnel Management:
- Supervise bartenders, ushers, and volunteers, ensuring a well-coordinated, customer-focused team.
- Provide training and support to enhance team performance in delivering exceptional service.
- Event and Rentals Coordination:
- Plan and execute events that complement theatrical productions, engaging the audience and optimizing bar revenue.
- Collaborate with event organizers to seamlessly integrate special occasions within the theatre environment.
- Coordinate and collaborate on Development events with the Stewardship and Communications Manager.
- Oversee the scheduling and coordination of facility rentals. Provide excellent customer service to clients renting facilities. Draft, review, and execute rental agreements and contracts. Handle rental inquiries, bookings, and reservations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in front-of-house management, Box Office operations, sales leadership, and bar management, preferably within the theatre or performing arts industry.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an understanding of the unique dynamics of theatre audiences.
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, including bartenders, ushers, and volunteers.
- Proficient in using ticketing systems, sales analytics tools, and bar management software.
- Bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts, Business, or a related experience is preferred.

This position is based in San Antonio and will require in-person attendance and consistent night and weekend duties onsite.
