The University of Virginia Darden School of Business is a global leader in business education. Based in Charlottesville, Virginia and the Washington, D.C. area, the Darden School offers a portfolio of degree, non-degree and Executive Education Lifelong Learning programs. Degree programs include the flagship residential, full-time MBA program, Executive MBA formats and MS in Business Analytics. The Admissions team’s primary function is to recruit prospective students to apply to Darden, evaluate their candidacy through application review and interviews, and convert their admission to acceptance to enroll at Darden. This position focuses on our Professional Degree Programs. The Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia seeks to fill a part-time (average of 10 hours per week) Admissions/Senior Admissions Application Reader and Interviewer position to engage with prospective students, assess applications, and interview candidates for admission to our Professional Degree Programs. The position is responsible for holistic assessment of applicants’ materials including letters of recommendation, academic accomplishments, short-answer questions, resumes, work experience leadership and team skills among other criteria. The position will interview applicants virtually. This position will also connect with prospective students for short, initial inquiry conversations. This is a wage position which is not eligible for leave or other benefits and is limited to 1500 hours of work in a year. Required knowledge, skills and abilities: Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of relevant experience, master’s degree or MBA preferred (Admissions Reader) Bachelor’s degree and at least seven years of relevant experience, master’s degree or MBA preferred (Senior Admissions Reader) Experience in enrollment management and/or hiring committees Senior Admissions Reader will rely on years of experience to function independently, exercise considerable discretion and require minimal supervision Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet regular deadlines Willingness and ability to learn new CRM systems Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team with excellent initiative and judgement This position has the opportunity to work remotely.
