The Reinforced Earth Company is recognized as the inventor and market leader of the MSE (Mechanically Stabilized Earth) retaining wall industry. The company provides the design and supply of materials of proprietary retaining wall systems and earth related technologies to contractors and owners for use in civil engineering. Our company works as a sub-contractor/material supplier on DOT and privately owned projects. We perform all duties associated with our jobs from sales, marketing, civil engineering/design, supply, and construction support.


Job Description Summary:

The National Commercial Manager reports to the VP of Engineered Precast Solutions. The National Commercial Manager will set and lead the organization of the commercial team, define the commercial strategy in coordination with upper management, research and identify new market opportunities to grow sales, oversee, review, and direct the action of their team, negotiate contracts with clients, establish new client relationships, and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Attract new clients, identify new market opportunities and oversee growth projects.
  • Determine the participation in bid/tenders and identify enquiries to be prioritized.
  • Manage bidding process and ensure commitment to deadlines.
  • Review and/or prepare cost studies and offers.
  • Ensure company targets and sale margins are achieved.
  • Ensure that all risks and assumptions in the commercial proposal are correctly defined, studied, planned and quantified (required resources (material, equipment, manpower), scope of work, deliverables and responsibilities, work schedules, liabilities, etc.)
  • Liaise with technical and operations teams for complex, large scale projects or whenever deemed necessary.
  • Negotiate commercial terms with potential clients and suppliers.
  • Review and finalize contracts with Clients.
  • Manage and/or prepare submittals and ensure approvals of prequalification documents, material submittals, project schedules (production, testing, delivery, installation, etc.).
  • Establish, grow, control and maintain network of reliable Suppliers.
  • Ensure pricelists and prices from Suppliers are competitive and up to date.
  • Manage the commercial and sales platforms.
  • Provide the higher management accurate and relevant information and reports on commercial matters: market projections, sales forecast, sale targets, performance reports, etc.
  • Motivate personnel and encourage close working relationship among commercial team.
  • Manage hand-over meetings for newly signed contracts.
  • Engage in meetings with clients in post contract award whenever required.
  • Manage the interface with the clients and resolve conflicts, if any.

Duties and Responsibilities Towards Quality, Health, Safety and Environment:

  • To familiarize themselves with and to comply with all QMS and QHSE regulations and instructions.
  • To be responsible for own Health and Safety and that of others that may be affected by own acts or omissions.
  • To cooperate with others in the company to fulfill its statutory duties with respect to QHSE.
  • To not interfere with or misuse anything that has been provided for your Health, Safety or Welfare.
  • To follow all company policies and Health and Safety instruction/notices.
  • Whenever required to always use the prescribed PPE.
  • To contribute any suggestions that may assist in the effort to prevent any accidents, injuries or pollution.
  • To report promptly all accident, incident, near misses or non-conformances to his/her supervisor.
  • To maintain a current knowledge of all QMS and QHSE matters relevant to your position.
  • To produce all necessary records and strictly follow all procedures as required by the quality management system (QMS).
  • Contribute to the continual review and improvement of the Quality Management System when required.

Requirements/Education/Skill:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Construction/Civil Engineering or an equivalent field.
  • At least 8 years of industry experience, of which minimum 5 years in commercial, marketing, sales or business development roles.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of the market, sales, marketing and commercial processes.
  • Willing to frequently travel.
  • Proactive, goal-oriented, ambitious.
  • Commitment and enthusiasm for challenges.
  • Strong organization, problem-solving, creativity, and leadership skills.
  • Medium, preferably advance level user of Microsoft Office apps - Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams.
  • Basic (or higher) level user of AutoCAD.
