Job Description:
The U.S. Army Fires Center of Excellence and Fort Sill (USAFCOEFS), 428th FAB Fort Sill, OK, is seeking highly qualified individuals to provide resident and Mobile Training Team (MTT) instruction for the Joint Fires Observer Course (JFOC). The role involves academic and simulator instruction, operation and maintenance of Call for Fire Trainers (CFFT) simulators and Deployable Virtual Training Environment (DVTE), contribution to the Joint Fires Observer (JFO) Program of Instruction (POI) development, and lesson plan maintenance and updates.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct high-quality JFOC instruction both in a resident setting and through Mobile Training Teams.
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot CFFT and DVTE simulators.
Develop and maintain JFO POI and lesson plans in accordance with current military standards.
Ensure adherence to the FCoE 428th Field Artillery Brigade's Instructor guidelines and standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
JTAC Experience:
Minimum of three years of verifiable JTAC (Joint Terminal Attack Controller) experience.
Experience must be post-graduation from an accredited JTAC Qualification Course and subsequent JTAC certification.
Verification is required through AF Form 8, AF Form 3827, or a Terminal Attack Control Evaluation form (or Service equivalent).
Alternative Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited JFO (Joint Fires Observer) course.
Minimum of three years verifiable experience as a FAC(A) (Forward Air Controller (Airborne)), post-graduation from a FAC(A) course.
Proof of certification logged in an Official Flight Record, AF Form 8, or Service equivalent.
Operational Experience:
A minimum of three years at an operational unit performing JTAC or FAC(A) duties.
This experience must be active time.
For Guard, Reserve, or other part-time service, the total drill time must equal three years. One weekend a month and two weeks per year in a Guard or Reserve unit does not meet this requirement.
Combined Experience:
A combination of eight years of continuous Active Military service.
Plus a minimum of two years of Operational JTAC/FAC(A) experience.
