Responsibilities:
Teach students about local, state national and international history
Discuss important figures, dates and events that have shaped our modern world
Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities
Create a positive educational climate for all students to learn in
Meet course and school- wide performance standards
Participate in professional development
Maintain grade book
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures
Teach curriculum according to State of California and Archdiocese of Los Angeles Standards
Work with Department Chair and Dean of Student Learning and Faculty Development to ensure initiative are being meet
Implement a variety of different teaching methods to help all students master objectives and material
Prepare students for life after graduation including college courses and skills needed to be an active citizen
Requirements:
BA required (History, US History, US Government, Economics or Political Science preferred)
