Today, The RoomPlace Furniture and Mattress is operated by third generation owner Bruce Berman and is one of the top furniture retailers in the country with over 28 locations throughout Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and California.

Position Summary

The Operation Supervisor position is responsible for the management and administration of networks, servers, security, and storage lifecycle management.

The Operation Supervisor is a hands-on technical leadership role accountable for leading Infrastructure Engineers and Technical Support team and managing the enterprise systems infrastructure including server platforms, database systems, storage, virtualization, networking devices and cloud computing. The role leads the delivery of engineering design, implementation and operational administration of scalable and optimal systems architecture, performance, security, availability, and reliability that meet business requirements. We are looking for a hands-on systems administrator along with Networking experience. You will be required to perform a variety of IT systems and Network related tasks in conjunction with the Application Development team.

The position consists of day-to-day interaction with users, vendors, and participants. This position requires a well-rounded IT base knowledge as you will be required to troubleshoot and resolve a wide variety user issues that include, but are not limited to the Cisco Switches, Access Point, Wi-Fi (internet issue) ,Windows desktop environment, Windows Server environment, printers, production copiers, fax machines, phone system, Hosted Exchange Email, and a wide variety of software packages.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical expertise and leadership in assessing, planning, designing, implementing, and supporting The RoomPlace systems infrastructure, network, security and operations
• Develop and manage lifecycle plan for data center equipment: core networking, compute, storage, security, and backup environment
• Analyze and improve organizational process and workflow, employee and space requirements, and equipment layout; implement changes
• Manage all aspects of team building, team members career development and terms
• Manage Information Security for all systems are compliant and address vulnerabilities
• Responsible for setting strategy for the new platform
• Lead for IT Projects (System, Network, Security)
• Build and maintain vendor partnerships
• Manage and mentor the Engineering team and Technical Support including training and development, day to day systems management, operation and security.
• Maintain an attitude of ownership while preserving a customer focused service philosophy that ensures the highest possible commitment to quality.

Qualifications

• 7 years IT-related experience
• Experience with managing or leading teams and projects
• BS, Computer Science, or other IT-related degree highly preferred
