Overview
Coordinate and direct all events and fundraising responsibilities for Morristown Corps operations and community relations.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and oversee all Fundraisers (Annual Golf Outing; 5K Run, etc.).
- Plan, implement, and oversee annual Angel Tree Toy Drive Programs.
- Assist with the coordination of the annual kettle campaign, including recruitment of volunteers and organizations, and processing seasonal hires with divisional headquarters when/if needed.
- Assist with preparations for monthly Advisory Board Meetings, including taking minutes at meetings.
- Plan, implement, and oversee the Summer Day Camp, including processing seasonal hires with Divisional Headquarters.
- Assist in identifying potential grants for Corps operations/programs.
- Recruit volunteers and oversee Corps volunteer appreciation events.
- Assist the Family Worker in Childcare Center appreciation events.
- Provide updates of Corps calendar/events to headquarters for ongoing social media presence.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in an area pertaining to community relations or development.
- At least 5 years of experience in planning and executing events and/or fundraisers.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
- Strong verbal and written communication, with proven experience in public speaking.
- Proven experience recruiting and managing volunteers.
- Must understand and support the mission of The Salvation Army.
