Job Objective: The objective of this position to provide strength-based case management, supportive services, assessments, and crisis intervention to homeless families to promote self-sufficiency in order to obtain and maintain housing.
Essential Functions:
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field required; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement
Experience: A minimum of three years of case management experience with low income, minority populations, and/or those with substance abuse, mental health, and homelessness issues
Certifications/Licenses: Licensed Bachelor of Social Work or certification in Case Management preferred

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has the authority to assign and check work of the client advocates. This position may recommend employment status changes to the shelter director, and assist with making disciplinary decisions but will not formally evaluate performance of other employees.
Physical Requirements: Include sitting, walking, standing, stretching/reaching, and lifting without assistance a minimum of 10-25 lbs. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job.
Travel: Travel will consist of attending Social Service Conferences (which are both local and out of the area) at least once a year, and other monthly meetings and trainings to best meet the educational requirements of the position.
Driving: This position does require driving to assist with obtaining program needs. Therefore, must possess a valid driver's license from the state of residence and must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in a 24/7 residential living environment. This is a full-time non-exempt position and will require some weekend and evening work.
