Only Salvation Army employees at the Greensboro Command are eligible to apply for this position.The Salvation Army, internationally recognized non profit, faith - based organization, has a job opening for a Director of Case Management Services for the Greensboro Command's Center of Hope (COH).Job Summary To provide a comprehensive system of direct services to homeless families in the Center of Hope Shelter Program and Crisis Assistance Program while networking with related agencies.Knowledge Skills, and AbilitiesExperience working with homeless men, women and families strongly preferred.Previous human service outreach experience strongly preferred.Knowledge of social service best practices and principles.Sensitivity to cultural and poverty issues.Self-starter, resourceful, team player with the ability to manage multiple initiatives.Knowledge of Continuum of Care for homeless persons.Experience with performance management and outcomes driven programming.Experience with public/private funding sources and reporting requirements.Superior analytical ability and organizational skills required.Ability to create a climate conducive to effective engagement with homeless clients suffering with mental illness, substance abuse and domestic violence.Financial management and fundraising experience, ideally in the environment with multiple funders.Demonstrated experience in handling emergency situations and a full knowledge of conflict resolution, crisis interventions and harm reduction techniques.Commitment to inclusiveness and diversity and deep appreciation of the many cultures that shape and enrich our society.Education and Experience Associates Degree equivalent in Social Services and 3-5 years of social work and case management experience or two years’ experience as a supervisor over social service program or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Licenses and Certifications CPR and First Aid Certification (preferred).Valid Drivers License Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsAbility to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language. Ability to maintain an emotional stability and awareness of social issues which cause the problems of homelessness. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting light objects, (less than 25lbs).Work is performed in a normal residential facility environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
