POSITION TITLE : Development Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY : The primary responsibility of the Development Coordinator is to enhance, create, and expand fundraising and development initiatives across Central and West Oahu.
Focus on the development of Fundraising Plans and Events, Echelon board development, and Volunteer Initiatives. Position works closely with the Kroc Hawaii Corps Officers to develop a strategic plan to set and exceed development and fundraising goals.
Provide fundraising and logistic support for gala events, Christmas Kettle Events, Echelon recruitment and fundraising events & Corporate Relations initiatives, with an aim towards recruiting new private and corporate donors.
Build awareness of The Salvation Army Kroc Center programs and services. Enhance traditional and social media opportunities for the Kroc Center programs and services.
Participate in local community and cultural events to help establish The Salvation Army's local presence. Work closely with team to set goals for seasonal initiatives such as the Red Kettle Campaign, Camp fundraising, Stuff the Bus, and local Echelon initiatives.
Leverage volunteer relationships into fundraising leads to support corps development plans and goals.
The DC will have a deep commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army, which will be evident in his or her professional life and the manner in which he or she represents The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in the community.

Available to work flexible hours including some nights and weekends as required for fund-raising events or speaking engagements.

Must possess the self-discipline necessary to perform repetitive tasks without lowering quality of work. Able to work with limited supervision, and work in a team setting with other professionals.
Exercise good judgment and comfortable taking initiative with projects.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
The position requires sitting; climbing and / or balancing; stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching, crouching and / or crawling;
standing; walking; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; use of vision; driving a vehicle; pushing / pulling / lifting / carrying 25 pounds and occasionally more than 25 pounds.
COMMUNICATION DEMANDS :
The position requires formal presentation skills and experience in public speaking; superior customer service, both internal (i.
e. co-workers) and external (vendors, visitors, customers, etc); computer proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Publisher.
The position requires the ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive, professional manner in conformity with The Salvation Army Mission Statement.
The position also requires the ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances.

EQUIPMENT NEEDS :
Equipment used includes general office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, scanners, printers, fax machines, telephone (office and cell), and 10-key calculator.
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES :
Must have a valid driver's license and insured transportation and participation in The Salvation Army's Fleet Safety Program on an annual basis.
CLEARANCES :
The candidate chosen for this position will be required to pass a criminal history information check. Conviction of a crime will not automatically preclude employment.
