Job Summary

Answers the telephone in a courteous manner; records accurate and complete donation pickup tickets; receives and receipts deliveries and donations;

provides general information about The Salvation Army’s operations and services.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to respond to and assist callers and visitors in a courteous and tactful manner; Ability to screen calls in a courteous and tactful manner;
  • Ability to work with people and to provide assistance in a calm, courteous, and tactful manner; Ability to record accurate and complete pickup tickets;
  • Ability to respond to emergencies in a calm and effective manner; Ability to project a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army;
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language; Ability to operate a telephone and / or 2-way radio; Ability to sort documents alphabetically and numerically;

Ability to respond to and assist callers and visitors in a courteous and tactful manner; Ability to perform routine mathematical computations.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or required, And One (1) year of experience working in a business with dispatcher responsibilities, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities.
