SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Director of Budgeting is an integral and collaborative member of the financial management team who manages and oversees the development, monitoring and management of the Foundation’s $70MM annual budget. The responsibilities include establishing partnerships between finance and all of the Foundation’s departments to develop principles and policies that guide the budget process based on the Foundation’s key priorities, the strategic plan, and the Board approved annual budget parameters. They will provide necessary reporting and analyses to assist the CFO and Executive Management Team in making sound financial business decisions that are sustainable and aligned with the strategic plan. They will also develop close and critical working relationships across the organization, collaborating with all departments to ensure that they have the information to manage their budgets effectively and efficiently.

SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • 10 years of professional experience with 5-10 years of experience in FP&A, preferably including a management role in a not-for-profit organization with an annual operating budget of at least $25MM
  • Prior success building strong relationships throughout all departments in organizations
  • Expert skill levels in financial modelling, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with not-for-profit software (Blackbaud) a plus
  • Demonstrated communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Proven track record of simultaneously managing multiple projects
  • Effective collaborator and leader within and outside of the Finance department

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • - Budgeting - Works closely with the CFO to develop annual budget strategy and financial objectives and communicates objectives to department heads and project managers to ensure alignment of financial plans with strategic objectives. Develop detailed financial models for annual operating budget, three-year operating plan, and capital expenditures.
    • Forecasting: Develop and maintain complex financial models to support the accurate forecasting of revenue, expense, and liquidity. Prepare comparisons vs. budget and prior year with detailed supporting analyses; preparation of detailed monthly cash projections for current and succeeding fiscal years; prepares monthly budget/forecast actual analyses. Monitor and maintain capital expenditures plan.
  • - Reporting - Provides CFO with all financial reporting required for Board and Budget and Financial Planning Committee meetings and prepares committee minutes, where required.
    • Analysis – Provides analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for growth.
    • Supervise – Supervise Senior Accountant in the consolidation of budget submissions and preparation of related analyses.

WORK DEMANDS and ENVIRONMENT:
  • Ability to travel within the metropolitan area as required to perform the above duties at any of the Guggenheim’s owned or leased properties upon request.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.

EDUCATION:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance;
  • CPA required

WORK SCHEDULE: 40 Hours per Week, Schedule TBD

POSITION TYPE: Full-time, Exempt

SALARY RANGE: $140,000 - $160,000 Annually
