Job Description:  

SCADD is currently seeking a compassionate full-time licensed or license-eligible clinician at our Lebanon Pines Campus to provide clinical services for individuals regarding behavioral, substance abuse, psychiatric, and/or emotional concerns through the development and implementation of clinical assessments, treatment plans, groups, and discharge plans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following as allowed by specific program, State regulations, and Scope of Practice limitations: 

  • Assist in orienting client to program, goals of the program, rules governing client conduct and infractions, and client rights upon admission for treatment. 
  • Ensure that insurance authorizations are accounted for in line with dates of treatment and services provided. 
  • Provide education and information to clients individually and through groups concerning substance use disorders and recovery resources. 
  • Coordinate case management needs to match services, agencies, and resources with clients to assist with discharge planning.  
  • Provide crisis intervention services to respond to client's needs during acute emotional and or physical distress. 
  • Support individual clients in identifying strengths, weaknesses, problems, and needs in ongoing treatment planning to address substance use and/or mental health issues. 
  • Identify client needs that cannot be met at this level and assist in the referral of the client to available support systems and community resources. 
  • Meet with multidisciplinary team to acknowledge and report on client progress, discuss and modify established treatment plan. 
  • Formulate clinical interventions to promote stability and ensure client engagement and investment. 
  • Provide counseling for family or significant others as appropriate. 
  • Meet all documentation requirements for client progress, referral and contractual networking, and incident reporting.

Requirements:

*Counselor I requires an associate or bachelor’s degree in human services field.

(AS, BA, CADC, CIT).

*Counselor II requires a master’s degree in a license eligible field (addiction studies, marriage & family therapy, professional counseling, or social work)

*Bilingualism a Plus!

About the programs:

­­­­­­­­­­­­SCADD’s Lebanon Pines program offers long term treatment for men with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders on a 56-acre campus in the southeastern region on Connecticut. "The Pines" provides a structured recovery environment with a focus on the psychosocial aspects of treatment. Residents work on recovery skills, managing the signs and symptoms of relapse and making meaningful lifestyle changes. Under the direction of our skilled and experienced staff, residents learn to recognize their disease, prevent relapse, and develop skills for reintegration into the community. 

SCADD’s Transitional Housing is a residential treatment program with locations in Norwich and New London, Connecticut. The program is designed to assist and support men and women in their sobriety. This program affords individuals the opportunity to apply learned recovery skills, prevent relapse and promote personal responsibility. Residents can reintegrate into educational, vocational, familial, and social structures.

SCADD’s Withdrawal Management program is a medically monitored withdrawal management and evaluation program delivered by medical and nursing professionals and enhanced by skilled clinicians and technicians. The services are delivered under a defined set of physicians monitored protocols. Twenty-four-hour nursing observation, medical monitoring and treatment are available on site. Counseling and case management services are available on site seven days per week. 

New Hire Orientation and Onboarding:

If selected for employment with The Southeastern Council on Alcoholism & Drug Dependence, Inc., newly hired employees will be required to attend a mandatory New Hire Orientation which will take place at our Administrative Offices located on 321 Main Street, in Norwich, CT.
