Job Description:  

SCADD is currently seeking a compassionate full-time Family Services Director, at our Lebanon Pines, New London Outpatient, Transitional Houses, and Withdrawal Management programs to provide and coordinate counseling and educational services for families and significant others of clients in treatment at SCADD.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following as allowed by specific program, State regulations, and Scope of Practice limitations: 

  •  Assist in orienting families/significant others to the goals of treatment, expectations governing client conduct and family role in supporting treatment.
  • Provide education and information to families/significant others individually and through groups concerning substance use disorders, recovery resources and family dynamics.
  • Provide family therapy, with the consent of the client, at a frequency agreed to and appropriate for effective benefit.
  • Collaborate with program staff regarding client case management to align family services effectively and recommend post-discharge resources.
  • Provide crisis intervention services to respond to family needs during acute emotional distress.
  • Support the family system in identifying strengths, weaknesses, problems, and needs in ongoing treatment planning to address substance use and/or mental health issues.
  • Meet with multidisciplinary team as appropriate to acknowledge and report on client progress.
  • Formulate clinical interventions to promote stability and encourage family engagement and investment.
  • Meet all documentation requirements for client progress, referral and contractual networking, and incident reporting.

Supervisory Responsibilities                                                     

This position will oversee licensed staff and student interns providing family services to clients at all SCADD locations. 

Requirements:

Master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, social work, or professional counseling with concentration on family services.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  

Licensure required –LMFT, LCSW, or LPC 

$3,500 SIGN ON BONUS for Full Time Clinicians (LMFT, LCSW, or LPC)

- $1,750.00 upon hire and

- $1,750.00 at the completion of 12 months of employment.

About the programs: 

­­­­­­­­­­­­SCADD’s Lebanon Pines program offers long term treatment for men with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders on a 56-acre campus in the southeastern region on Connecticut. "The Pines" provides a structured recovery environment with a focus on the psychosocial aspects of treatment. Residents work on recovery skills, managing the signs and symptoms of relapse and making meaningful lifestyle changes. Under the direction of our skilled and experienced staff, residents learn to recognize their disease, prevent relapse, and develop skills for reintegration into the community. 

SCADD’s Transitional Housing is a residential treatment program with locations in Norwich and New London, Connecticut. The program is designed to assist and support men and women in their sobriety. This program affords individuals the opportunity to apply learned recovery skills, prevent relapse and promote personal responsibility. Residents can reintegrate into educational, vocational, familial, and social structures.

SCADD’s Withdrawal Management program is a medically monitored withdrawal management and evaluation program delivered by medical and nursing professionals and enhanced by skilled clinicians and technicians. The services are delivered under a defined set of physicians monitored protocols. Twenty-four-hour nursing observation, medical monitoring and treatment are available on site. Counseling and case management services are available on site seven days per week.

New Hire Orientation and Onboarding:

If selected for employment with The Southeastern Council on Alcoholism & Drug Dependence, Inc., newly hired employees will be required to attend a mandatory New Hire Orientation which will take place at our Administrative Offices located on 321 Main Street, in Norwich, CT.
