Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • Two years’ education in graphic design, 1-year practical experience with 1 year of print production experience in order to qualify for $25 per hour. We are willing to train these skills, however without these qualifications this position will start at $18 an hour.
  • Working understanding of dual platform applications, such as: Illustrator, Onyx Thrive, RasterLink, Caldera, Adobe Acrobat, and PhotoShop.
  • A solid working knowledge of vectorized file formats, PDF, EPS and their applications.
  • Ability to prepare files for output to film, plate, spot and 4-color process, receive and manipulate files electronically and maintain operating systems on production machines.
  • Ability to send files to the image setter, high speed digital copiers and color copiers.
  • Proven ability in proofreading and editing.

Daily Job Duties

  • Record job progress and completion into the internal system.
  • Double check for any spelling or grammatical errors before production begins. If you aren’t sure, ask a supervisor. It is art’s responsibility to make sure that all typos are caught before production.
  • Produce art within the deadline given to you by management.
  • Art server management is the responsibility of the Art Department. Be sure to put files in the proper places on the server as well as using the proper file name structure.

  • Making and submitting art proofs for sales as requested - communicating through the process on reproofs until art is fully approved.
  • Relay information to supervisors about items needed to complete any orders.
  • Be on time and ready to work when your shift is set to start. Get coffee, food, etc. before clocking in.
  • Inform your supervisor of your daily plan to make sure nothing else is needed from you.
  • Art files produced will need to be print and cut ready and used by others on large format and flatbed printers, laser and cnc machines.
  • Perform your job the way you were instructed to by management. If you believe you have a more effective and efficient way of completing a task, please discuss it with management before doing so.
  • Make sure all products leaving your department meets the high quality standards expected by the company.
  • All product leaving your department should meet all applicable ADA guidelines and regulations. If you aren’t sure, ask a supervisor.
  • Keep your department clean and organized.
  • All company property (ie tools, machines, material, computers, etc) must not be used for personal use unless authorized in advance by your supervisor.
  • Cell phones (tablets, headphones, and all other electronic devices) are allowed for work purposes only. All other uses are only permitted on break and lunch. If there is an emergency please alert your supervisor immediately.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
