What are the responsibilities and job description for the Copy Editor position at The Squires Group?
Overview
The Squires Group has an excellent opportunity for a Copy Writer to work on a Federal Project based in Arlington, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing program communications and training materials for spelling, grammar, punctuation, readability, and formatting consistency with established brand standards in support of this program. Additional responsibilities may include meeting with clients and customers to define content needs and create a content calendar. Ideal candidates have a passion for writing, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.
This position will require some days onsite in their Arlington, VA office. Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens with (at least) an Interim Secret clearance. An Active Secret Clearance is preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, or related field
- 3 years of experience copy editing and/ or technical writing
- Experience writing, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to work well under pressure
- Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens with (at least) an Interim Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational skills
- Mastery of punctuation and grammar
- Experience in Section 508 compliance
- Active Secret Clearance
