Under the guidance of the Quality Assurance Supervisor this person will assist in all micro and analytical tests assigned
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Conduct general food micro testing including generic pathogenic micro under
guidance of the Quality Assurance Supervisor or as outlined in the protocol testing performed on a timely basis
Obtain samples from production and process sample preps for micro testing,
including media prep as directed or outlined in the protocol.
Testing performed on a timely basis
Count and record micro plate counts.
Product line checks completed timely
Conduct a specific micro testing under guidance of the microbiologist
Micro testing completed timely and reports completed
Purchase lab supplies and maintain the inventory
Assist in processing of samples from receipt through testing, including all
associated documentation and recordkeeping including data entry in
internal electronic system, helping to ensure that all steps are completed in a
thorough and timely manner as outlined in protocol and to communicate promptly to
the Quality Assurance Supervisor or designated when tasks are complete,
problems arise and|or something is or seems out of compliance.
Perform task in a timely manner
Assist in maintaining thorough, complete and timely documentation and
recordkeeping as outlined in established SOPs and|or directed by the Quality
Assurance Supervisor or designates regarding any micro task | experiment that
is routinely performed and thus does have complete timely and accurately
established documentation procedures.
Occasionally assist with preliminary data analysis as needed under the guidance ofthe Quality Assurance Supervisor.
Complete timely and accurately.
Assist as needed under the guidance of the Quality Assurance Supervisor or
designate various microbiology tasks, including but not limited to sample
preparation and handling, dilutions, medi
prep, swab test etc.
Complete timely and accurately.
Assist with non-routine physical chemical analysis tasks, experiments, and product
development related support as needed.
Trend Analysis completed
Communicate testing result with quality department and|or other department as directed by
Quality Assurance Supervisor.
Adhere to and models good manufacturing practices (GMP) and good laboratory practices
(GLP) at all times.
Maintain clean and organized work space, micro lab and practices “clean as you go”
standard at all times.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
1 -2 years micro test or food analysis lab experiences and basic knowledge of microbiology
Prior QA|QC experience in food manufacturing is a plus
Proficient in MS office: Excel, Word & PowerPoint
Must be capable of demonstrating physical demands typical of food laboratory and
microbiology lab
Good listening skills and organization skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to handle multiple projects and able to meet deadlines
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed with reasonable
notice.
Must be comfortable and able to work with all kind of ingredients, spices, food components
including meat, nuts, dairy, eggs & etc.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
B.S. degree in food, chemistry, microbiology, biology or related is required
