What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift operator position at The Staffing People?
The forklift / telehandler operator will be responsible for the safe operation of power industrial trucks. They will be moving materials from a lay yard to the roof a building.
They will also be responsible for emptying a trash hopper regularly.
This position is a 4 month position. It is located on MCLB Albany. A clean background is required. You must have an up-to-date Forklift / Telehandler Certification. THIS IS REQUIRED.
Job Responsibilities :
Safely operate a forklift / telehandler. Move products from the lay yard to the roof a building. Perform safety checks of the lift before and after use to ensure that it is fully operational.
Regularly empty a trash hopper into a dumpster. Communicate effectively with Leads and other employees. Ensure pathways are clear of people and / or debris.
Report any equipment issues with supervisor immediately. Follow all safety, quality and production policies and procedures.
All other duties as assigned.
Possess excellent communication skills. Basic math skills. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted. Ability to make decisions that are effective and responsible.
Ability to turn, twist, bend and have good vision. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Works well with others.
Excellent time management. Ability to remain focused and work independently. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
