Annual Base Salary $40,810.00, plus current CAD of $644.80 totaling $41,454.80
Paid Bi-Weekly
Excellent retirement package and optional deferred compensation plan. Health, vision, dental, disability, and other supplemental insurance are available at reasonable premium rates. Paid vacation and sick leave. Nine (9) paid holidays and personal day. Tuition waiver available for State Universities and Community Colleges (up to 6 credits per semester).

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This is professional accounting work involving the independent application of accounting and auditing concepts, principles, theory, and technical skills in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS), independently performing accounting work that is specialized and requires the design and development of financial policies, procedures, and programs used by the agency including the preparation of reports and analyses in accordance with applicable standards. This position is located in the Fiscal Office and reports to the Senior Management Analyst II/Florida Palm Supervisor. This position is responsible for various accounting duties, which may include but not limited to, payroll processing, reconciliation, and approval in FLAIR and MFMP for the department along with coordinating and implementing current and future activities and training relating to transitioning from the State of Florida’s current financial software to the State’s new financial software which will occur in phases over several years.
Essential functions/job standards
Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), preferably in a state government environment.
Ability to communicate ideas, findings, and recommendations in a clear, concise manner both verbally and in writing in a timely manner.
Ability to analyze trends and to research and assimilate data from various detailed record sources for the development of analyses and reports.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with officials, employees in state agencies, and auditors.
Ability to research, understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Language
English proficiency, verbal and written.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures; knowledge of payroll and excellent communication skills (written and verbal); excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.); highly motivated and works well in a team environment; strong organizational skills.

Ability to research, understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, state statues and procedures.
