POSITION DESCRIPTION: Develop, implement and administer bridge information. Serve as Central Office Site Coordinator for the BrM system. Provide user support in the implementation and use of bridge information including providing user support to District, consultant and Central Office users. Prepare performance measures as requested.


Develop, administer and implement policies, procedures and standards concerning information management for the Statewide Bridge program. Provide support for the development of the Bridge Work Plan for both state and local bridges for periodic reporting and monitoring.


Develop policies, procedures and standards for Bridge Information reporting and analysis.


Coordinate and manage MRP (Maintenance Rating Program) information statewide that is SAS (Statistical Analysis System) language based. Coordinate the selection of MRP points on Asset Management corridors.


Coordinate maintenance information issues concerning AASHTOWare PrC as it relates to Maintenance management. Act as backup security coordinator for AASHTOWare PrC. Support Maintenance Management System (MMS) Interface used to move data from the AASHTOWare PrC system into the Maintenance Management System.


Provide technical assistance in the area of bridge maintenance inspection reporting to District Structures Maintenance offices, the Office of Maintenance and the State Permits Office.


Prepare and analyze bridge information and assist in making management determinations involving the District Quality Assurance Reviews. Assist in the managing statewide maintenance operational data for management reporting.


Functional Expert and Technical support for the Structure Management Electronic Document Management System (EDMS). This includes responding to district questions, calls and security issues.


Technical coordinator for the Comprehensive Bridge Report (CBR). Responsibilities include researching and gathering current department bridge statistics, utilizing this information to populate the department’s bridge information into a spreadsheet and then publishing this information to the department’s website on a quarterly basis.


Functional Application Coordinator for AASHTOWare Bridge Rating (BrR). This would include Office of Information Technologies (OIT) liaison.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of desktop computer applications. Knowledge of Local Area Networks. Knowledge of SAS programing language. Knowledge of the concepts, terminology, principles and analytical techniques of an engineering specialty area. Ability to analyze and interpret engineering data. Knowledge of Maintenance Rating Program. Knowledge of the AASHTOWare PrC system. Knowledge of the BrM and BrR systems. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Knowledge of maintenance work practices as they relate to roadway and structures. Ability to solve problems relating to engineering. Ability to communicate engineering information effectively. Knowledge of bridge inspection and reporting practices.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: An Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in the field of computer science or information technology. Professional experience in the field of computer science, computer programming, or information technology can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
