GENERAL SERVICES SPECIALIST – 70036241
This advertisement is for a SES position located at Santa Rosa Correctional Institution.
Salary Range: $38,175.54 – 78,819.59 Annually
SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The incumbent will be acting on behalf of the institution providing administrative checks and balances needed at the local entities to ensure that the assets of the department are protected, and all legislative requirements are met.
- As supervisor, this position communicates with, motivates, provides, or coordinates training, evaluates employees work, plans, and directs the employees work, and has authority to hire or recommend the hire, transfer, or discipline subordinate employee.
- Directs supervision of subordinate personnel who are preforming warehousing, canteen, and mailroom duties.
- Coordinates, directs, and maintains the daily operation of the mailroom, receiving warehouse, inmate discharge functions and cash receipts, payroll distribution, the institutional resource room and laundry operations, where applicable. This includes, but is not limited to, the receiving, storage, and distribution of commodities from various vendors and entities: receipts, inspections, and distribution of all mail for the institution as outlined by procedure.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of purchasing, supply inventory, property management, food service and/or real property management.
- Ability to understand an apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to formulate policies and procedures.
- Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to analyze and identify operational and/or management problems.
- Ability to develop various reports.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a High School diploma or its equivalent.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s license.
- Three years or professional or nonprofessional experience in business administration, purchasing, supply inventory, property management, food service operations or real property management.
- Demonstration of knowledge, skills, and abilities documented on position description as demonstrated by education, work experience and/or work sample and interview.
