This is a professional position within the Division of Community Health Promotion and is 100% supported by the federal Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) grant. This individual will design, develop, and update presentations, training materials and other media for the Florida WIC program. The incumbent will also review and edit program materials intended for a variety of audiences and assist the Local Operations Unit Supervisor as needed.


Your Specific Responsibilities:


Training Material Development and Management

  • Develop, update, and maintain training materials (including training handbooks, multimedia visuals, computer tutorials and reference works) in accordance with policy.
  • Assist in evaluating and identifying ongoing training needs throughout the organization.
  • Review existing training practices and materials to determine effectiveness and recommend changes for improved results.
  • Integrate the Department of Health Communication’s brand and content standards and instructional design best practices.
  • Coordinate and communicate with the WIC subject matter experts effectively and develop content accordingly.

Reviewing, Editing and Tracking

  • Collaborate with website developers and policy experts to ensure that digital content is organized, consistent, and updated timely.
  • Communicate system updates and changes as needed.
  • Review reports, memos, and other materials to ensure consistent messaging, formatting, readability, etc.
  • Contribute to the workflow of various requests.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist with other staff training and development programs and curriculum as needed.
  • Research and recommend new training methods to enhance learning experiences.
  • Assist with visual projects/displays.
  • Assist with event/activity planning for the unit and/or the bureau.
  • Fulfill other tasks, responsibilities or projects as assigned by the Unit Supervisor or Bureau Chief.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills, including outstanding oral, written, editing and presentation/training abilities.
  • Ability to exhibit meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of the role.
  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office applications, with work experience using PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques of training and instruction, enabling the development of engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Skilled in utilizing web/virtual training engagement tools and learning management systems.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with colleagues and subject matter experts contributing to a vibrant and collaborative training and development atmosphere.
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments, fostering effective working relationships through flexibility, adaptability, and active contribution.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, including effective management and coordination of multiple tasks and complex projects independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate discretion and integrity in handling confidential and sensitive information, adhering to privacy policies and regulations.

Qualifications


Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college; or any combination of post-secondary education or verifiable related experience, as described in this posting, for a total of four years.
  • Proficiency in editing the work of others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with work experience using PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Outlook, and Excel.

Preferred

  • Experience working in the WIC program.
  • Demonstrate proven experience in developing training for a workplace.
  • Demonstrate experience interacting with a Learning Management System.
  • Demonstrate experience with software including Captivate, InDesign, etc.
  • Familiarity with editing webpages.
