ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Occasional to moderate travel required.
Position may respond to emergencies, including natural disasters or other type incidents requiring travel, as needed.
NOTES:
The anticipated hiring salary for this position is $15.00 hourly.
JOB DUTIES:
Responsible for exotic species identification, habitat mitigation and restoration work, mapping, removal and follow up, prescribed burning, recreation, boundary posting, works closely with the supervisor and forester to ensure that improvements are mapped, assists with the exotic species eradication program, assists with timber marking and timber sales by monitoring harvest crews and patrols recreational areas to ensure that they are clean and safe for forest visitors.
Assists Forester with the statistical analysis of volume measurements, checks harvesting operations to ensure compliance by contractors; assists supervisor and forester with other data associated with stand descriptions.
Assists with equipment maintenance by doing preventative maintenance, cleaning vehicles and other equipment and moving it to assigned work location, maintains forestry equipment used in field work.
Perform other duties as required.
