Your Specific Responsibilities:
- Leads the department’s social media messaging platforms by collaborating, strategizing, implementing, and analyzing posts and marketing initiatives.
- Works closely with staff in the Office of Communications, agency leadership, programs, county clinics and offices, to create and disseminate relevant, targeted social media messaging.
- Develops short and long-range social media messaging goals and outlines strategies to achieve them.
- Works with stakeholder groups to develop information sharing strategies and ways to integrate public health awareness messages to a larger audience, e.g., industry influencers.
- Creates baseline annual social media strategy calendar for routine and timely content that align with current agency health initiatives and identify opportunities to creatively promote additional public health messages throughout the year.
- Curates and manages all published social media content.
- Develops routine data analytic reports to supervisor and others, to evaluate effectiveness of content.
- Monitors and evaluates daily flow of social media information and inquiries.
- Updates, prepares, and responds to social media public inquiries by providing information, helpful links, contact information, statistics, and/or technical assistance.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of social media platforms, social media content development, management, and analytics tools.
- Knowledge of AP writing style guide as well as the rules of grammar, punctuation, proofreading, and copy editing.
- Some knowledge of design, photo, and video editing software, such as Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
- Must be highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Skilled in copywriting and editing, communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Must have strong customer service, public relations, and presentation skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
- Ability to research topics and write articles or prepare information for dissemination.
- Ability to develop and implement an annual social media communications calendar to ensure timely execution of content.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments to meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to communicate to citizens and coworkers in a mature, tactful, and courteous manner.
- Ability to demonstrate personal integrity, responsibility, and accountability.
- Ability to travel on short notice, as needed.
- Ability to initiate and coordinate demographic research.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in news reporting, editing, public relations, public information, advertising, marketing, communications, or journalism..
A minimum of one year of social media management experience required.
