Division of Administrative and Information Technology Services:
The Division of Administrative & Information Technology Services assists in preparing the Commission’s Budget and consists of two bureaus, Administrative Services and Information Technology Services.
The Bureau of Administrative Services administers the agency’s human resource program, handles all financial transactions and accounting records maintenance. The bureau also processes all agency purchasing, security and safety issues, leasing, surplus property, and fleet management. Additionally, the bureau supports imaging, duplicating, mail distribution, audiovisual, hearing and conference room operations, and fax systems.
The Bureau of Information Technology Services monitors and evaluates the information processing and telephony needs, proposing enhancements to information processing resources and providing technical support services. Additionally, the bureau manages the agency-wide administrative procedures manual, forms inventory/ tracking programs, and live streaming of Commission events.
Description of Job Duties:
This position is a front desk security guard for the Gunter Building which houses the Public Service Commission. The duties for this position include: patrolling buildings and premises watching for any danger of loss or damage to property and investigates reports of disturbances or suspicious circumstances; maintains the visitor log and assigns visitor badges; allows only authorized persons with proper identification to enter the building; enforces rules and regulations on state property; ensures that doors and gates are properly locked and turns lights on or off as required; answers telephone calls; and performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
A high school diploma or its equivalent.
Previous experience as a security guard is preferred.

Employment Eligibility:

Civil Service Law requires all males born after December 31, 1959, to register with the Selective Service System unless they meet certain exemptions under the law. Failing to register when required makes one ineligible for appointment.
Preference in appointment and employment shall be given to veterans and other persons as required by Chapter 295, Florida Statutes, Veterans’ Law. Applicant must provide the required proof of preference at the time of submitting an application.

Post-Employment Restrictions:
Pursuant to Section 350.0605(2), F.S., former Commission employees are prohibited from appearing before the Commission to represent any client regulated by the Commission on any matter in which he/she had participated and which was pending at the time of his/her termination.
Pursuant to Section 112.313, F.S., FPSC Senior Management Service or Selected Exempt Service employees shall not personally represent another person or entity for compensation before the Commission, for a period of two years following vacation of his/her position. Exceptions to this law are provided for former Commission employees who are employed by another agency of State government and those employed by the Commission prior to January 1, 1995.
