Location: The successful candidate will be required to work on-site in the Kansas Legislative offices in Topeka, Kansas. The candidate should also reside in or plan to relocate to the local area. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Position Summary:
The Kansas Legislature is seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to join the Kansas Legislative Office of Information Services (KLOIS) team. KLOIS supports the information technology needs of the Kansas Legislature through the automation and integration of the processes and functions of the Senate and House Chambers, the Revisor of Statutes Office, the Kansas Legislative Research Department and Legislative Administrative Services.
The successful candidate for the position of Audiovisual Specialist will perform operations of Kansas Virtual Statehouse audiovisual systems for the Kansas Legislature. Duties include the operations of technology for Legislative Committee meetings and House and Senate Legislative daily sessions. The candidate will be comfortable working closely with our diverse customer base, within an exciting and challenging technical environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct operations of the audiovisual systems of the Kansas Virtual Statehouse which include meeting scheduling, operation of audiovisual technology during meetings, and post meeting processes.
- Work closely with Legislators, Committee Chairs, Committee Assistants, and Legislative Staff to operate audio/visual systems during meetings.
- Report system issues to the Audiovisual Coordinator.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Audiovisual Coordinator.
The successful candidates must have:
- Knowledge of video conference systems, video and audio streaming systems, room audio systems, device sharing, email and calendaring systems, closed-caption systems, computer operation, and general software applications.
- 2 years of experience in IT systems operations and customer service.
- A demonstrated ability in follow documented policies and procedures.
- A dedication to customer service, often providing services under very short time constraints.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
