The State of New Hampshire, Department of Corrections has a part-time vacancy for Ward Clerk.
Summary:
To perform clerical duties in compiling, retrieving, filing and monitoring inmate medical records in the Northern NH Correctional Facility - Health Services Unit to include both the outpatient area and infirmary.

18 Months of additional relevant experience = Associate's degree
36 Months of additional relevant experience = Bachelor's degree
54 Months of additional relevant experience = Master's degree
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education : High school diploma or high school equivalency credential. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: Two years of experience performing clerical work or two years of experience as a Mental Health Worker or in the field of health care involving medical record documentation skills.
License/Certification: None required.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge of medical technology, business English, English grammar, spelling, punctuation and arithmetic.
Knowledge of medical office practices, procedures and equipment. Working knowledge of filing techniques. Knowledge of telephone answering procedures.
Ability to maintain departmental records and clerical reports from such records.
Ability to accurately coordinate and organize large volumes of documentation for multiple individuals utilizing various entry and retrieval systems.
Ability to follow simple instructions.
Ability to learn assigned clerical tasks readily and adhere to prescribed routines.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.
Must be willing to maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.
Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the agency appointing authority.
