Project Manager / Lead Educator
Our wonderful team of 20 is growing! We are seeking an engaging candidate to join our collaborative environment and help with all sorts of hands-on programmatic work. Our Programs Team provides informal Science, Technology, Engineering and Math education from preschool
through adults with a focus on reaching underserved populations in 3 areas: Digital Equity, STEM afterschool programs and STEM summer camps. Our STEM Alliance Project Managers contribute their experience in education, nonprofit programming and/or program management to the overall advancement of the Programs Team’s work and the mission of the STEM Alliance. Specifically, they collaborate to implement programs using project plans to achieve designated goals.
What you'll be doing
The responsibilities of this role can be tweaked depending on the talents of the right candidate and the needs of our team. Having said that, it's likely that you'll be doing some of the things below, together with our Programs Team:
Manage projects in our STEM Education, Digital Equity and/or Summer Enrichment programs in order to meet goals, stick to timelines, evaluate progress and report program metrics
Create a collaborative work culture to motivate the team to meet quality standards
Embrace innovation and flexibility to bring creative solutions to new challenges
Assist with the supervision, training and coordination of other team members
Serve as a teacher in out-of-school time and in other informal settings with community partners such as after school programs, Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCAs, preschools, library systems, workforce development programs and more
Learn to teach our specialized content such as:
hands-on, innovative STEM workshops, classes, special events and programs for PreK-12 students and adults
Digital Equity Now curriculum to teach basic tech skills to families and adults with limited to no technology experience
Communicate directly with clients via email, text and phone calls in a case management model for digital equity outreach
Attend conferences and professional development experiences to grow skills and be an ambassador of our work across Westchester County and NY State
What you bring
First and foremost, we are looking for someone who is warm, friendly and values teamwork. Also significant is that you have a desire to serve others and learn how STEM education and Digital Equity are creating a ladder of opportunity for all. Lastly, we need you to complete tasks independently to meet collaborative goals.
Besides that you might:
Have past teaching experience in schools, museums or other learning environments
Have led projects, motivated teams and coordinated shared tasks
Speak Spanish
Have experience with the Google Workspace platform
Consider yourself technologically savvy
Have a car or are able to access transportation to reach partner sites across Westchester County
Seek a job where you can make a difference in the lives of people and the community

Salary
$50,000 - $59,000 annually
