Position Summary
Gravitas is seeking a part-time math teacher to further develop and then teach its live online Algebra I Summer Accelerator course. This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the country's most prestigious Christian academic institutions as a member of a talented faculty. All candidates should have demonstrable Christian commitment and an educational philosophy that is consistent with The Stony Brook School's mission statement.
Job Status: Part Time Summer position
Rate: $4,800 Stipend
Work Schedule: July 1-August 16; Mon-Thurs. 9:30-10:50 am
Location: Remote
Essential Functions
- Teach online Algebra I intensive course, including grading and providing feedback outside class time.
- Adapt existing live and asynchronous lessons and assessments.
- Grade assessments.
- Live online teaching experience required.
- Five years teaching experience in math is preferred.
Qualifications
- A master's degree in math or math education is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet grading deadlines.
- High energy, strong work ethic, and excellent rapport with teenagers online.
- Excellent oral and written communication; responsive to all communications.
- Commitment to a faith-based education environment emphasizing Christina scholarship and character formation.
- High proficiency with technology and online learning tools.
- Reliable high speed internet access
- Experience in a collaborative teaching environment; open to feedback.
- Professional interaction with parents and the school community.
