Kids’ Ministry Director
(Part-time, 20 hours/week)
As our community continues to welcome new families, we are seeking a part-time Kids’ Ministry Director who can joyfully direct, plan, and organize the ministry for our kids from birth through 6th grade. We want to raise up kids to be the revolutionaries Christ dreamed of, and we’re seeking a Kids’ Ministry Director who practices the radically inclusive ways of Jesus and who has the character and competency to equip our kids to do the same.
The foundation of our Kids’ Ministry is aligned with that of the broader Table mission: to practice the ways of Jesus by creating space for all to belong and be loved. The Kids’ Ministry Director will help create space for all to belong, so that all may experience the love of Jesus and take that love out into the world.
Responsibilities:
- The Kids’ Ministry Director will plan, develop, and deliver children’s programming, including age-appropriate lessons for our weekly worship gatherings (Sundays at 5pm in the building of Bethlehem Lutheran Church). There is potential for this to include programming by and alongside Bethlehem Lutheran, such as Sunday morning children’s choirs and summer VBS.

- The Kids’ Ministry Director is a hands-on teaching position with support from both paid hourly staff and volunteers. The Kids’ Ministry Director will be assisted by the existing Kids’ Ministry Leadership Team (comprised of one staff and five laypeople) to recruit and train volunteers to lead kids’ programming.
- Manage, support, and develop paid hourly staff and volunteers through organization, communication, and encouragement.
- Participant in weekly staff meetings and biweekly Kids’ Ministry Leadership Team meetings.
- Develop regular communication with volunteers, families, and the broader community.
Reports to: Debbie Manning, Co-Pastor of The Table
Timeline: 20 hours per week beginning immediately. The stated expectation is for this position to grow to full-time.
Salary: Negotiable, commensurate with experience
Requirements:
- A deep love for and practice of the teachings of Jesus.
- A passion to see all kids grow to know Jesus, feel loved and a sense of belonging, and develop friendships.
- Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Education and Experience: Early Childhood Development/Education, experience developing and/or leading kids’ programming
