A Westchester County-based nonprofit organization is looking to add a new, licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team at one of their Youth Detention Centers.
About the Opportunity:
The Clinic Nurse (RN) will:
About the Opportunity:
- Setting: Juvenile Detention Center
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm
- Patient Population: 14 to 21 years old
The Clinic Nurse (RN) will:
- Participate in the admission process
- Monitor resident’s medical needs by daily cottage rounds and on-going collaboration with resident’s interdisciplinary team
- Schedule / coordinate initial physical exams, sick visits, health screenings, vision needs and as needed, medical consultations and follow –up
- Transcribe medical orders; process medications from pharmacy; administer and document medications and treatments
- Maintain current medical records including medical care, immunizations, treatments and medications
- Provide health care teaching / HIV counseling
- Prepare medical reports for SPR and attends SPR conferences
- Coordinate medical and health care needs for discharge /transfer to another agency or community
- Perform other duties, as assigned
- Graduation from accredited Nursing program
- NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Patient oriented
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
- CPR certification
- Experience in a Social Services and/or Pediatric role/setting
