What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server/Host position at The Toasted Yolk Cafe?
Duties:
- Greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner
- Take food and drink orders accurately and efficiently
- Deliver food and beverages to tables in a timely manner
- Provide excellent customer service and address any guest concerns or requests
- Assist with bussing tables and maintaining cleanliness of dining area
- Handle cash transactions and process payments using the POS system
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure accurate food preparation and delivery
- Follow food safety guidelines to maintain a safe dining environment
Skills:
- Experience with OpenTable or similar reservation management system is a plus
- Strong math skills for accurately handling payments and making change
- Excellent guest service skills, including the ability to anticipate needs and provide personalized recommendations
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, including seating arrangements, menu items, and specials
- Ability to work well in a team environment and assist coworkers as needed
- Familiarity with food safety practices to ensure proper handling and storage of food items
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and presentation standards
- Proficiency in cash handling procedures, including counting money, processing credit card transactions, and reconciling cash drawers
- Familiarity with POS systems for order entry and payment processing
